Mrs. Wrightsman was honored by the Queen as an Officer of the British Empire in 2003 for her extensive patronage of the British Museum. Her membership in the Roxburghe Club brought her into close contact with ladies and lords who may have interceded on her behalf, although her significant patronage of the British Museum played no small part.
