Curtius Rufus, Quintus. Quintus Curtius. (Florence: Filippo Giunta, December 1507)
This is the first of several works edited by Luca Della Robbia for the Giunti. He came from a family with Savonarolan leanings and most of the dedicatees of his works were similarly piagnoni with anti-Medicean sympathies.
8vo (165 x 102 mm). Italic type, 30 lines plus headline. collation: *8 a-v8: 164 leaves (*7-8 and u7-8 blank). (Paper flaw at lower corner of t7, occasional foxing.)
binding: Contemporary morocco gilt (175 x 110 mm), gilt border of leafy swirls with small repeated diamond-shaped tool and small ropework trefoils, spine with give small gilt flower stamps in each compartment, edges gilt and gauffered, stubs from four pairs of ties. (Binding repaired and refurbished with new endleaves.)
