Beschreibung:

.410 gauge, 22" barrel with matted rib, S/N 15438. Express leaf sight s outlined in white. Top of barrel marked forward of the rear barrel sight T. Bland & Sons West Strand London. In the rear next to the frame Winner of the 1885 American Rifle Trials. Thomas Bland Company took a standard 95 Winchester rifle and customized it by making it a takedown and chambered it for a .410 gauge shotshell adding the wide matted rib. Checkered forearm with horn tip, checkered fancy pistol grip stock with shotgun butt. Finely engraved frame in banknote style with T. Bland & Sons in a banner on both sides of the frame. Thomas Bland's records indicate this was ordered by a Mr. Butler, this rifle to be converted to .410 gauge and highly finished with engraved action and finely figured walnut stock with a 14.25" pull. It was completed and delivered to Mr Butler on 22 February 1898. There can be some doubt of who Mr Butler was, but because of the configuration of the rifle he ordered, one would have been a trick shooter. And there was only one shooter in that time with the name "Butler" and he was Frank Butler, Annie Oakley's husband, and they shot together as a team. Condition: Excellent. Retaining most of the blue finish and stock and forearm are excellent. One of the finest examples of a "trick shooter" rifle with possible use by both Frank Butler and Annie Oakley.
