This rare treatise tells of the grapes and winemaking processes in Cyprus, giving an account of the island's wines by distinguishing them by type, depending on the quality of the grapes, the duration of the aging process and their conservation, and providing data and figures relating to the sale of the product both in the East and in the West. Mariti has been interested in the youth of natural sciences, cultivating botanical studies and, above all, agronomy, so as to become a correspondent member of the Accademia degli Georgofili, born in Florence on July 4, 1753, in 1772, under the impetus of that renewal of the ' agriculture that the Habsburg-Lorraine wished and promoted to remedy the problems that had arisen in the Grand Duchy, starting with the first decade of the second half of the century, with regard to crops and food stocks. Questo rarissimo trattato studia le uve e i processi di vinificazione in uso a Cipro, dando un resoconto dei vini dell'isola distinguendoli per tipi, in base alla qualità delle uve, alla durata del processo di invecchiamento e alla loro conservazione, e fornendo dati e cifre relativi alla compravendita del prodotto sia in Oriente che in Occidente. Il Mariti si interessò sin dalla giovinezza di scienze naturali, coltivando studi di botanica e soprattutto di agronomia, tanto da divenire nel 1772 socio corrispondente dell'Accademia dei Georgofili, sorta a Firenze il 4 luglio 1753, sotto l'impulso di quel rinnovamento dell'agricoltura che gli Asburgo-Lorena auspicavano e promuovevano per porre rimedio ai problemi sorti nel Granducato, a partire dal primo decennio della seconda metà del secolo, relativamente alle colture e alle scorte alimentari.
