Darly, known for these prints of ridiculous wigs and hairstyles, here pokes fun at early British defeats in America. The first, with a pun in the title on General Howe's name, refers to the Battle of Chelsea Creek and Noddle Island at the end of May 1775. The latter print criticizes Sir Peter Parker's failed attempt to take Sullivan's Island at the entrance to Charleston, South Carolina harbor in June 1776. Scarce.
