Photogravure frontispiece after Richard Doyle (loose). Original half parchment, blue half morocco case. Provenance : Janet and C.R. Ashbee (booklabel, inscription on front free end paper 'Janet, Xmas, 1911'). FIRST EDITION, published under the pseudonym of Ramel. Ashbee was the founder of the Essex Press (1898-1910). 4. Poems . London: John Murray 1906. 8° (174 x 111mm). Contemporary green cloth, gilt foliage design on spine, blue half morocco case. PRESENTATION COPY (inscribed on fly-leaf 'Walter de la Mare, all good wishes, April 1924'); and three other titles by De La Mare including another edition of The Listeners (1916); together with three typed letters from the author to Halsted Vander Poel, Taplow, 31 July, 23 August and 19 October 1939, 3 pages, 4to , envelopes, agreeing to sign and inscribe two books, referring to a setting of The Listeners by a friend of Mr Vander Poel's, and welcoming his sympathy 'with England in these present troubles'.
