DE MUSSET, Alfred (1810-1857) - Venise. [Paris: Henri Le Riche, 1928]. A fine copy of de Musset's work dedicated to Venice in a fine precious binding signed Randevness. A limited edition published and illustrated by Henri Le Riche (1870-1944); copy no. 55 of 162 on Holland Van Gelder paper signed by the artist at the colophon. 4to (321 x 246mm). Title in red and black with elaborate woodcut border, 4 engraved plates, final suite of 11 plates including the first 4 repeated and in different states, 7 coloured etchings in the text and the red engraving of the lion of Venice. Dark morocco signed Randevness with leather inserts decorated within a gildt border depicting Venice, gilt spine, inlays and edges, blue silk endpapers within a morocco frame with gilt inserts, marbled and dark morocco case, original wrappers preserved (very light rubbing to case). Provenance: Raymond Linardi (Paris bookshop label). Together with Charles MAURRAS (1868-1952). Les Amants de Venise. Paris: E. de Boccard, [s.d.]. Limited edition n. 13 of 36 copies in fine signed binding (indecipherable signature) in red morocco with a gondola on the cover in inlaid green leather, spine with inlays and title in gilt, uncut, original wrappers preserved.
