Denmark. Braun (Georg & Hogenberg Frans), Danorum Marca uel Cimbricum aut Daniae Regnum..., Cologne, [1590 or later], hand-coloured engraved map, decorated with cartouches, coat-of-arms, sailing ship and sea-monsters, 385 x 465 mm, mounted, framed and glazed, together with De Wit (Frederick). Jutiae Tabula in qua sunt Dioecesis Alburgensis, Wiburgensis, Ripensis et Arhusiensis quae et sunt divisae in Omnia Dominia, Amsterdam, circa 1680, engraved map of Jutland, orientated to the north with contemporary outline colouring, toned overall, 580 x 480 mm, mounted, framed and glazed (Quantity: 2) The first map described is the only actual geographical map (rather than a town or city plan) featured in Braun and Hogenberg´s atlas 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum'. Commissioned by Count von Rantzau (the Danish governor in Schleswig-Holstein) and engraved after a drawing by Marcus Jordan. Uncommon.
