Condition : some scuffing and soiling; small tear to lower spine; former owner’s name erased from front wrapper. apparently the earliest of denslow’s juvenile advertising pamphlets, this copy announcing the holiday merchandise of byron d. bugbee of putnam, conn . Denslow devoted the latter part of his life to advertising work and produced a steady stream of delightfully illustrated pamphlets for various manufacturers. This was the only generic title issued by the Buffalo Book Co. or Niagara Lithograph Co.; the back wrapper was left blank for individual firms all over the country to advertise their Christmas wares. As the Teddy Bear was introduced by Rose and Morris Minchen in 1903, The Teddy Bear’s Christmas is one of the early children’s books about the popular toy.
