First edition of the first 2 vols. of Descartes epistolary in Latin, with numerous woodcut illustrations and diagrams. The 3rd volume, edited by Blaeu, was not published until 1683. - Minor equal browning throughout, some marginal waterstaining and worming in places, there with slight loss of letters on 8 leaves of first vol. Bound in contemp. full calf, spines gilt; rubbed, little stained, spines little chipped at ends.
