In 1910 Kennings were the first motor sales agency for BSA Royal Enfield motorcycles and were the first motor car agency for Ford in 1916. In 1919 Kennings became the sole agency for Morris Motors in Derbyshire. Alongside car agencies Sir George set up supporting businesses like forecourt petrol sales, car servicing and car spares sales. Kennings were the first agents in the UK for Lucas electrical components.
