(Title and 7 preliminaries browned, cracked at inner margin, small tear to lower margin of three preliminary leaves, SS 3 - 4 holed.) Modern marbled calf gilt, modern morocco-backed box. THE EXTREMELY RARE FIRST BOOK PRINTED IN SAMPALOC and the second edition of the first grammar of the Kapampangan language of Bataan and Bulacan in Manila Bay. Kapampangan bears similarities to Tagalog but with more Malay and Sanskrit words. The work was first printed in Manila at the Jesuit Press in 1729.
