The front side of the deed with printed text and inked inscriptions reads, "This Indenture made the fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty, between Edward Ingersoll, of the City of Philadelphia, Esquire and Catherine Ann, his wife of the one part, and Henry Derringer of the County of Philadelphia Gun and Rifle manufacturer, of the other part, witnessseth, That said Edward Ingersoll and Catherine Ann his wife as well for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar, lawful money, unto them at or before the sealing and delivery hereof by the said Henry Derringer welll and truly paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, as the payment of the yearly rent and taxes, and the performance of the covenants and agreements hereinafter mentioned, which are the part of the said Henry Derringer nd his heirs and assigns is and are to be part and performed. The inscribed ink portion of the deed immediately below describes the property as on the East side of Front Street and 120 feet along Oxford Street in the Northeast Liberties of the City of Philadelphia. Additionally, another forty foot structure along Front Street and Oxford Street. one hundred and twenty feet. Rent payment agreements are listed for a structure eighty feet in breadth on Front Street for which a yearly ground rent of one hundred dollars payable to John H. Brinton. Another rental agreement included in the inked portion of the deed is for fifty dollars in annual rent payable to Edward Ingersoll and his wife Catherine Ann. The document is complete with appropriate signatures and wax seals and other official markings. Condition: The document was folded in eight places and is in excellent condition and all inked writing as well as the signatures are visible.
