Also marked IN WIEN in an arc behind the cock. Frizzen with engraved front and curled toe, with flat, beveled swan neck cock. 4.75" of deeply chiseled martially themed decorations are present at the breech of the barrel. The brass side plate and triggerguard are engraved with panoplies of arms, while the balance of the brass mounts are engraved with flowing floral or geometric motifs. Stock with raised carvings around the tang and at the tail of the lock, with some additional carving between the triggerguard and entry pipe, terminating in incised lines that run the length of the forend. A horn tipped wooden ramrod is in the channel under the barrel. Condition: Fine. Metal cleaned to bright in the European fashion, with some scattered discoloration and light oxidation on the steel. Brass mounted cleaned to bright as well. Lock with crisp and clear engraving, mechanically functional and with a fine bore. Wood crisp with some tiny repairs to the forend moulding near the nose cap, a couple of grain cracks in the forend and some pin holes in the stock with wood filler.
