Engraved portrait frontispiece, 2 folding maps (1 hand-coloured in outline), 12 lithographs printed in three colours by Vincent Brooks (Plate facing p.107 loosely inserted.) Original brown cloth, upper cover blocked in gilt, lower cover in blind and spine in gilt (light soiling, head and foot of spine bumped). FIRST EDITION. Sebastiao José Xavier BOTELHO. Memoria Estatistica sobre os dominios Portuguezes na Africa oriental. Lisbon: José Baptistsa Morando, 1835. 8° (202 x 125mm). Lithographic title and dedication leaf. 6 folding lithographic plates (1), town plan (1), maps (2) and charts (2). (Slight offsetting of text onto part of plate facing p.126 and town plan facing p.320.) Contemporary calf, tooled in gilt and blind, gilt edges (neatly repaired at head and foot of spine). FIRST EDITION and apparently complete in one volume, although a work called Segunda parte da Memoria estatistica sobre os dominios portuguezes na Africa Oriental ...
