Emma-Louise Grady Butter and Cloth Acrylic and Posca Pen on Paper Signed on Verso 15 x 10cm (5¾ x 3¾ in.) About Since graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2019 with a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art, I continue my practice as an artist in my own studio, situated in the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland. Working independently has aided my understanding of the more practical aspects that come with being an artist. In many ways I have found my experience to be a constant learning process. I have achieved a considerable amount in my time as a practicing artist: including awards from The Royal Scottish Academy and The Fleming Collection. Selling through online galleries in London, Oxford and Japan has led me to a better awareness of selling work as an artist. My paintings have been purchased by individuals and businesses across the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Inspired by vivid colours; my surroundings also influence my creative process. Through the exploration of patterns my work represents a sense of freedom and fluidity. The patterns created are unique to each painting, allowing them to stand on their own. With every intricate detail committed to my painting, it creates worlds that exist only within each other. Each piece created has endured a variety of process stages, allowing it to have a significant amount of layering to each painting, creating a sense of depth.
