A collection of 10 letters and documents, including Prince RUPERT (3 November 1679, a receipt for his pensions), George MONCK, 1st Duke of Albemarle (20 May 1663, ordering powder and match), John BRADSHAW (as president of the Council of State, an order to Colonel Sydenham concerning a prisoner on the Isle of Wight, 1 February 1650/1), Henry IRETON (6 October 1650, a pay order for two companies in Ireland), Thomas Wentworth, 1st Earl of Strafford (as lord lieutenant of Ireland, 12 September 1634), the Committee of Both Kingdoms (20 June 1647, a pay order for Edward Carter Surveyor of the Works, signed by the Earls of Northumberland and Pembroke, Henry Vane the Younger, Sir Henry Mildmay and Denis Bond), the Council of State of Richard Cromwell (20 October 1659, a pay order, signed by Bulstrode Whitelocke, Henry Vane the Younger and two others), Sir Robert Rich 2nd Earl of Warwick (1640), Richard Cromwell (cut signatures on fold up and seal tag of a lease, with a letter of presentation by a later Oliver Cromwell, 1820), and a manuscript oath of allegiance to the Commonwealth (a very late version, Aberdeen, 17 September 1659, with 13 signatories).
