Engraved illustration at the front: a soldier at a wooden Ghetto gate, by a sign that says "Wohngebiet der Juden" [Jewish residential district]. The wooden gate and the sign are associated with the Lodz Ghetto and appear in photographs and images of the Ghetto from the 1940s. Below the illustration is an inscription: Ghetto 23. V. 1943. Above the illustration, an engraved inscription in Polish: "Kochanym opiekunom zyczy szczescia Wychowanka Jrka" [for my beloved guardians, best wishes, Jrka]. Height: 7.5 cm.
