(17.8 by 21.9 cm.)Condition reportPlease note the color and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings Grading this albumen or arrowroot print on a scale of 1 to 10--a 10 being an albumen print with deep brown dark tones and highlights that retain all of their original detail--this print rates a 9. Overall it has a rich tonal range and exceptional detail from the stonework in the foreground to the rooftops in the far distance. This photograph is in generally excellent condition. There are some minor handling creases visible in high raking light that do not detract from the overall fine appearance of this print. The reverse is soiled and there are hinge remnants along the lower edge. '38-PP' and '63' are written in pencil in an unidentified hand. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale.
