This is an extremely rare Mermod cylinder music box in quartered oak, playing 24 - 1/2" cylinders with sublime harmonic/piccolo and with matching table. There are less than a handful of these beautiful music boxes known today, with most sitting in very established collections. A rare opportunity to own quite possible the best mermaid cylinder music box made. Condition shows some areas of case repair, light scratches to the table, but nothing that distracts to the overall appearance of this beautiful music box. Operationally smooth and the sound is flawless. There appear to be three repaired teeth to the comb, but you would not know it from the sound. With 4 cylinders. Truly a remarkable piece of early mechanical music, c. 1903. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
