Contemporary vellum, worn, spine rebacked with paper over old manuscript vellum, damages in upper joint and head and foot of spine, dark green edges. 1 leaf mended in upper margin, 1 leaf with mended tear, 5 leaves with small damages in outer margin. Partly dampstained, harder on pp. 505-600, some foxing and browning. A few old marginal annotations or underlinings to text. First edition. Collijn II: 221-227. During the 16th century about 14 different editions in Latin, French, Italian, Dutch, and German were published. This book is still one of the most important sources of Northern customs and daily life of the time. Olaus Magnus (1490-1557) was the last Catholic Archbishop of Sweden, which he left in 1524.
