From Russia, With Love was the first book in the Bond series where the UK and US editions shared the same jacket design. Al Hart was the instigator of this, having observed Fleming's appreciation of Chopping's design. Jonathan Cape then sent Macmillan Chopping's proof artworks to use on the jackets of Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only (lot 1127) and The Spy Who Loved Me (lot 1129) as well as his art for Thunderball (lot 1128) to use on the jacket for Gilt Edged Bonds (lot 1130).
