.73 caliber, 44.5" barrel with U.S. stamped on breech of barrel and tail of the lock. This firearm received a new lock, trigger guard and barrel of the 1774 pattern. The barrel is stamped D74 at the breech for Charleville and the year of manufacture, 1774. Because the 1774 barrels are shorter than the 1754s, the top band was moved back. The middle band began as a 1774, but the lower lip was removed and the entire band narrowed to resemble the American standard - the Model 1766. Sideplate is stamped PN. As usual with these refurbished guns, most of the markings were "cleaned off." Condition: Very good. The frizzen was re-steeled a long time ago.
