FRIDTJOF NANSEN (1861-1930) Portrait postcard, signed 'With very kind regards, Fridtjof Nansen, 9/5.91' (clipped, not affecting inscription), with the calling card of Fridtjof Nansen written on both sides and signed, 1 April 1899, to 'My dear Thompson', thanking him for his paper on the Arctic and Antarctic faunas which he found most interesting. He has looked for Chun's paper in his library but can not find it 'I wonder whether I got it back on board the Lucania (glorious time)?', and asks if he could possibly send it. 'I often think of the pleasant days we spent together', he ends. (2)
