Together 5 suites of plates in one volume, 2° (241 x 357mm). Contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt, red speckled edges (a remboîtage, spine restored). A REMARKABLE SAMMELBAND OF PLATES ON GARDEN DESIGN, all published in Augsburg, beginning with Fülck's baroque pattern book, published to celebrate the completion of the gardens of Count Rudolf Franz Erwein von Schönborn at Wiesentheid. The final six plates, including the magnficent folding plate 65, depict the Wiesentheid estate, while others provide imaginative models for mosaic parterres, terraces, topiary, fountains and other themes. In contrast, the suite of plates by Leopold shows a more restrained classical style, drawn from English, Italian and French sources. The complete suite of parterre designs by Hätzl, Court gardener to emperor Charles VI at Augsburg and Schönbrun, again show baroque taste at the peak of its development. While the last two series reveal the influence in Germany of Le Brun's Recueil de desseins de fontaines et de frises maritimes , after which the plates were engraved. Although the last three series are all undated, it is known that their publisher, Jeremias Wolfe, died in 1724. 1st work: Berlin Kat. 3328; see also M. Domarus, Rudolf Franz Eerwein v.
