GASTON VAN DEN EYNDE SABENA. Two posters. Circa 1960. 39x251/2 inches. Linsmo, Brussels. Condition A-: horizontal fold; repaired tear and minor creases in margins. Very little biographical information exists on Van den Eynde, but he did design a handful of posters, entirely for Sabena, the Belgian Airlines. These two images although not officially a pair, are from the same advertising campaign and are executed in the same modernist style. The first depicts the Atomium, built for the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels, rising into the geometrically-partitioned, colorful sky, and the second an impressive vantage point on the turbine of a Boeing 707 jet plane.
