GEORGE III, King of England (1738-1820), 12 documents signed, comprising warrants dated 1789 to 1810, including one countersigned by William Pitt together with one copy of a warrant (1798); GEORGE IV, King of England (1762-1830), two documents signed as Prince Regent, one, appointing Paymaster in Sicily, 1810, countersigned by Palmerston, and another, 1811; together with 22 warrants, receipts and lists, printed and manuscript, dated 1807 to 1814, including warrants for payments issued by Sir Hew Dalrymple, the Duke of Cambridge (1814), HRH The Hereditary Prince of Orange, Lieutenant General Whitlock in Montevideo (1807) and Viscount Wellington (1810), together 37 items, folio and large folio . Provenance : the Tizard family of Thames, New Zealand, and Weymouth (William Henry Tizard 1796-1860). An impressive collection of documents signed by George III and George IV, relating to the King's forces in England, the Leeward Islands, Malta, the West Indies, Nova Scotia, Sicily, South America, the United Provinces, Spain and Portugal. It is interesting to note that in four cases, on warrants dated 1808-9, the signature of George III appears to be somewhat erratic. (37)
