GERMAN THIRD REICH GROUND ROHM SS DAGGER

Schätzpreis
2.000 $ - 2.500 $
Zuschlagspreis:
n. a.
Beschreibung:

The steel blade features the acid etched SS motto "Meine Ehre Heißt Treue" on the obverse, and the makers name and logo, "Richard Herder", on the reverse. Above the makers logo is a ground down area which at one time featured the Ernst Röhm dedication. After the "Night of the Long Knives" Adolf Hitler branded Ernst Röhm a traitor and ordered his name and anything associated with him to be destroyed. Rather than purchase new daggers many SS, and Sa, men simply ground the dedication bearing Röhm's name off the daggers blade. The blade itself has scattered light marks throughout, but still retains much of its original factory cross graining. The upper and lower cross guards are made of solid nickel silver, which have developed a light nicotine patina throughout. The reverse of the lower cross guard is marked with the district numeral "I" for München (Munich). The black ebony grip features a nickel silver eagle and thick rune SS roundel. The grip has a small crack new the SS roundel and scattered light marks throughout. The black anodized scabbard features nickel silver hardware which has the same light nicotine patina as the daggers cross guards. The lower drag fittings ball end has a dent, as is commonly seen on daggers of this style. Scattered light marks can be seen throughout the scabbard. CONDITION: EXCELLENT Item Dimensions: Length: 13 - 5/8" Name Value Blade Length 8 - 5/8" Overall Length 13 - 5/8" Paperwork
