Government of Texas five dollar note, issue of June 9, 1837, ink dated April 1, 1838, no. 1577(?). Attractively framed to 12.625 x 16.5 in. Condition: Soiling folds, and general texture consistent with normal use. Five roughly one inch cuts in the lower half, as if someone used an X-acto knife to make cuts to the mat without realizing the note was below it. Not removed from frame for examination.
