Carlow: Indenture dated 28 Jan 1802 whereby the Bishop (Euseby Cleaver), Dean (Stewart Blacker) and Chapter of Leighlin grant the tithe of the parish of Old Leighlin (Co. Carlow) to Thomas Mercer Vigors. he is to hold them for 21 years, paying annually £20 to the bishop and £20 to the dean. Several signatures, and seal of Vigors. M/ss on paper, folio. Vigors (1775-1850) was curate of Leighlin and subsequently rector of Powerstown. he married I 1810 Anne, daughter of Rev. John Cliffe of New Ross; the antiquarian Philip Doyne Vigors was their youngest son, as a m/ss, w.a.f. (1)
