Great Britain Postal History 1873 (13 Feb.) embossed Marks & Sons embossed Valentine envelope to Lady Gull in Brook Street, London, bearing 1d. Plate 154 with London "79" duplex cancellation; fine. Photo note: Lady Gull was the wife of the eminent Victorian surgeon, William Withey Gull (1816-90), identified by Stephen Knight in "Jack the Ripper: The final Solution" (1985), and later by Alan Moore in "From Hell" as London's most infamous murderer. Dr. Gull became physician-in-ordinary to Edward VII and treated him for typhus, he was subsequently appointed physician-in-ordinary to Queen Victoria
