Lot of 11 Civil War-period cased images. An unrelated group of common military portraits featuring a quarter plate tintype; six sixth plates, two of which are ambrotypes; and two ninth plate tintypes; plus two additional civilian views. All of the images are fairly pedestrian and none are identified or armed. Arguably the best view is a boyish artillery or cavalryman in tall forage cap followed by a charismatic seated infantry private wearing a winter great coat. There are several good Union cases including a brown Krainik 31-“Alone at the Rendezvous,” with three generic geometric/floral pattern sixth plate cases. Condition: Nearly all of the images show minor imperfections including abrasions, light bends, and tarnish, still mostly G+ or better. The better cases show typical edge wear while the balance are broken or damaged.
