Compiled from technical documents detailing testing by Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation in 1965, the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) Heat Exchanger, Fuel/Helium Descent Propulsion Design Control Specifications manual details the calculations and testing of the technology that would lead to the historic touchdown of the spacecraft on the Moon just a few years later.
This document features several pages of notes on technical specifications, including a specification control drawing of the heat exchanger. Altogether, this lot affords a unique look at the engineering building blocks of the Apollo program with notations from one of the LEM's chief architects, its Cognizant Engineer Mr. Alvin Gimson.
