Gustav Stickley Arts and Crafts Leather Top Oak Table Desk No. 710, first quarter of the 20th century The rectangular brown leather surface surrounded on the edge with brass tacks, above five short drawers and a kneehole compartment, with paneled sides and back and hand-wrought pulls, raised on square legs, signed. Height 30 inches, width 48 1/4 inches, depth 28 1/4 inches. This rare model appears in the catalog of Craftsman Furniture Made by Gustav Stickley at the Craftsman Workshops, circa 1904. C
Appears to be in generally good condition; the leather top has areas of ink staining, discoloration, scuffing, pitting and two significant areas of tearing and losses, notably along the rear edge as well as the right facing corner; the brass tacks along the front side appear to be polished as compared to the tacks along the side and back edges; appears to have been refinished; stamped with company's red decal mark--The Stickley signature is visible when the drawer is removed from the case; it appears on the left interior side of the case; it is the red decal mark depicting a joiner's compass with the phrase "Als ik kan" above the name Gustav stickley; light superficial nicks and abrasion to legs, etc. appropriate to age and usage; retains key for locking the centered drawer (key may not be original)
