Half-plate tintype in oval mat and deep frame, holding a Rollin White pistol. He wears a nine-button shell jacket with an M-1851 eagle sword belt plate, rather than the more usual oval "U.S." belt plate. Lack of any insignia precludes identification of his unit. Originally had gilt highlights on the buttons and belt plate, some remains. Condition: Some rust from his left hand and below. Most of the gilt has flaked off the buttons and belt.
