approx. 48" x 67" cotton; all hand-sewn. Stars cut out on verso. Unusual arrangement of stars with clusters of 7 stars in each corner and 6 in center in oval. 5 small rings sewn to hoist. This flag only lasted for two years with the admission of Kansas to the Union in 1861 until West Virginia separated from her Confederate "parent" in 1863. The only President to serve under the 34-star flag was Lincoln. Condition: Numerous tears and holes from wear. Still an attractive flag.
