HANS ALBERT EINSTEIN COPIES: EINSTEIN ON PLANCK AND RIEMANN.EINSTEIN, ALBERT. 1879-1955. Two author's offprints:
1. "Max Planck als Forscher," Offprint from: Die Naturwissenschaften, I Jahrgang, Heft 45. Berlin, 1913.
Publisher's printed wrappers, printed statement "Nich im Handel," 1. "Max Planck als Forscher," Offprint from: Die Naturwissenschaften, I Jahrgang, Heft 45. Berlin, 1913.
Publisher's printed wrappers, printed statement "Nich im Handel," numbered "30" in red ink upper left cover and dated in pencil upper right.
Provenance: Hans Albert Einstein (his ownership stamp, annotations to cover).
2. "Uber die formale Beziehung des Riemannschen Krummungstensors zu den Feldgleichungen der Gravitation," Offprint from: Mathematische Annalen, 97 [pp 99-103]. Berlin, 1926.
Publisher's printed wrappers, numbered 85 in red ink upper left cover, and dated in pencil upper right.
Provenance: Hans Albert Einstein (his ownership stamp, annotations to cover).
BOTH FIRST EDITIONS, OFFPRINTS FOR HANS ALBERT EINSTEIN. TRIBUTES TO PLANCK AND RIEMANN – perhaps the two scientists to whom Einstein is most indebted for his scientific theories: Planck for the quantum theory of the photon, and Riemann for the mathematics of general relativity. Einstein's own discovery of Riemannian geometry was of course central to the development of General Relativity. Weil 56 and 157.
