HARRISON, Benjamin (1833-1893), President . Cabinet photograph signed ("Benj Harrison"), n.p., n.d. Albumen photograph (6 3/8 x 4 1/8 in.) including mount, on heavy gilt-edged card, gilt imprint of A. Bogardus, 11 East 42nd Street, New York, boldly signed in ink in lower blank area. A very crisp, sharply detailed head and shoulders image of the heavily bearded 23rd President in formal dress. Rare; the only cabinet photos signed by Harrison recently offered were an 1890 image in the Jacobs Collection (sale, Sotheby's, 29 October 1996, lot 101, $2,250) and a Civil War period image from the Marans collection (American Historical Auctions, 28 June 1998, lot 1297).
