HELLWIG, Christoph von (1663-1721). Nosce te ipsum, vel anatomicum vivum, oder kurtzgefastes...anatomisches Werck. Frankfurt and Leipzig: August Cruse, [ca 1745]. 2 o (338 x 206 mm). 3 plates each with multiple engraved moveable flaps (2 folding) and 9 plates with cut-out and mounted copper engraved illustrations. (Some light browning and staining.) Contemporary boards (some wear to spine and edges). Provenance : G.N.J. Sommer (bookplate). Third edition in German. The plates, with their multiple flaps, are crude copies in reverse of those in Remmelin's Catoptrum , but the author, a professor of medicine and practicing physician in Ehrfurt, provided a different text.
