Made from drawings by his son John William Hill one is a most unusual scene in which onlookers reclining on the roof of the Navy Yard ship house see the city along the Delaware River spread out below them … The scene along the Delaware has been described as perhaps the most beautiful engraved view of the city" (Snyder).
