First Edtion. Contains the rare map, as called for on the title-page. The scarcity of the map is such that most booksellers, when describing the book, conclude that the map was apparently never issued with the book, or even never printed. The map, titled "Map of Greece including a part of Turkey in Europe and Turkey in Asia, Engarved for Comstock's History of the Greek Revolution 1828," measures 13¼x16¼ (the margins are trimmed close, evidently so it would not extend beyond the book when folded). It is not bound in the book, but affixed at one panel to the rear pastedown, and there are a few tiny nicks at the folds. Old ink ownership signature of John Barrell to front endpaper, that of Chas. Davis, Jr., to the title-page. Lot Amendments Condition: A little rubbing to edges and extremities, vertical crease to spine, rear joint tender; else very good or better, much nicer than generally seen. Item number: 178100
