Contemporary bookplate of Philip, seventh Viscount Wenman. Descended from Sir Richard Wenman, the first Viscount, 1573-1640, who had been knighted for gallantry at Cadiz in 1596, Philip died without an heir and the title was inherited by his sister, the Hon. Sophia Wenman, who had married William Henry Wykeham in 1768
