ISLAMIC BOWL WITH SALUTATIONS TO ALLAH 18th-early 19th century AD A squat bowl with thick chamfered rim, band of calligraphic text to the shoulder offering salutations to Allah and naming the twelve imams of the Shia; beneath the equator and to the underside, abraded or erased bands of ropework, hatched triangles and arabesque plaques, large central sexfoil. 1.6 kg, 29cm (11 1/4"). Fine condition; abraded. Provenance Ex central London collection; acquired in London, UK, in the early 1980s.
