Autograph Letter signed "Wolf" (twice), addressed to "Oh, you Greek." 12 pages including a postscript, written in brown ink on rectos of 12 plain sheets of notepaper measuring 15.3x23.5 cm (6x9¼"); with original mailing envelope addressed in Charmian's hand, to Mr. & Mrs. George Sterling, Carmel-by-the-Sea, with a forwarding address to Oakland in another hand, postmarked January 25th, 1908. A vivid, long letter from Jack London to his close friend George Sterling, written while aboard the Snark. London describes his difficulties on the long stretch between Hilo and the Marquesas, "We have had to fight for every inch of easting," and gives a long account of angling for dolphins, "I find it hard to sleep after catching one of them. The leaping, blazing glory of it gets in my brain." He concludes with a jest, "I'm going to write up the voyage of the Snark & entitle it 'Around the World with Three Gasoline Engines & a Wife.'"
