(14 x 10 in), with thread margins, some spotting and surface dirt, small damp-stain lower left corner, tipped onto paper support, unframed, Robert Sayer [circa 1753 and later]. Literature: Chaloner Smith 2 ⁂ Ann Newton (c.1728-1767), who went by the stage name of Nancy Dawson, was a famous London dancer and actress. She rose to fame performing a solo rendition of a hornpipe between acts in The Beggar's Opera at Covent Garden Theatre in 1759.
