Modern half morocco, printed back wrapper bound in (wrapper laid down on Japanese tissue). Provenance : Arthur J. Bedell (1887-1961) (ink stamp on margin of page IX); Jerry F. Donin (bookplate). FIRST EDITION. Jaeger's atlas greatly advanced ophthalmoscopy, and was unsurpassed for many years. The chromolithographed plates were based on his remarkable fundus paintings, which were accomplished in sittings which might run to over one hundred hours per painting.
