"A new epoch in Western cartography of Japan begins with the inclusion of this map in the Theatrum. Finally characteristic of the type established by Texeira... is Korea's appearance as an island tapering to a point toward the south" (W.). From the rare German additamentum-edition of 1597, "without page number (and only) 75 copies printed" (Broecke online). - Original colouring. Some browning and stronger spotting due to offsetting.
