Passover Haggadah. Jewish Transportation Unit 178, Benghazi (Libya), 1943. Non-traditional Haggadah, stenciled, with illustrations. Printed on the reverse of bluish telegram forms of the Italian Governor in Libya. From the Haggadah: "This night of the Holiday of Liberty, we sit together, soldiers of the Jewish Drivers Unit 178….news reached us about the Valley of Death in Europe…"(pp.3-4). On p. 14 - illustration of Jewish Transportation Unit 178 Soldiers, sitting at the Seder table. On p. 22 an additional illustration of soldiers and an inscription "somewhere on the borders of the desert are Jewish soldiers" (from the song "On the Desert Borders").
