"In La pression baromtrique Bert describes how Jourdanet made it possible for him to do his laboratory work on altitude physiology, and how the two agreed to each take half the field: Bert, the laboratory work; and Jourdanet, the observational" (Garrison-Morton). An incomplete proof, according to the author in his presentation inscription, without the preface in vol. 1, some preliminaries in both vols., the table analytique des matires at end of both vols., and the final sections of second vol. These proofs do not contain the series of plates by Boetzel (except two as noted), nor the maps and other plates, but contain wood-engraved tailpieces which were omitted from the final published version.
