Kaare Klint (b. Frederiksberg 1888, d. Copenhagen 1954) “Safari chair”. An easy chair with smoked oak frame. Seat, back and loose seat cushion stretched with reddish brown leather. Natural leather straps. Designed 1933. Made by Rud Rasmussen Cabinetmakers. In 1933 professor Kaare Klint designed “Safari-chair” with special attention to design a simple and portable easy chair. He was inspired by an English officer's chair which he had seen in a travel book from Africa. Constructing a chair which could easily be disassembled and assembled without using any tools Klint maintained the field equipment purpose of the chair.
